Dane Azeles

Satellite Office Leader

I attended Juniata College where I studied marketing and played soccer. I’ve always enjoyed watching and playing sports. After college, I decided to move from my hometown of Holidaysburg, PA, to Pittsburgh, PA, in search of a career in sales. Soon after, I found an opportunity at PLS Logistics as an Account Executive Trainee (AET), I applied and ended up getting an interview.

I knew nothing about the logistics industry at the beginning, but I could see that PLS had the training and support I would need to succeed in sales.

After my interview, I accepted the position and have been at PLS ever since!

In March 2015, I started as an Account Executive Trainee at PLS where I worked my way through the PLS sales training process until I was promoted to Account Executive (AE) in October 2016. Patience was key for me while building my sales portfolio during my time as an AET and AE. I learned so much from the constructive feedback of my superiors. As a result, my skills and my portfolio grew.

In 2018, I was looking for opportunities to move into a leadership role and approached my supervisor about any potential openings. There was an opening for a General Sales Manager role, so I applied internally and interviewed for the position. In November, I was promoted to Group Sales Manager where I maintained my sales portfolio and began strategizing and helping those on my team to grow their portfolios. In January 2021, I moved on from my sales role to become a Satellite Office Leader because I wanted to focus my efforts into being a coach and helping others achieve their greatest potential.

My advice to anyone looking to grow within PLS is to always be available and always work hard to achieve your goals.

As a Satellite Office Leader, my days are spent helping, mentoring, and coaching others. I start each day by meeting with my team to set and review our goals and rally the team to perform their best. I also strategize with the other managers motivate, encourage, and support our employees’ success. I appreciate the opportunity to be a guide for them in the process and help them in any way I can, but at the end of the day, our sales reps see their achievements as a direct result of their hard work.

Each day presents new and exciting ways to strategize with my team to help each individual reach their goals. The most rewarding part of my job is when someone lands their first client, becomes the MVP of the day, their reaction and the joy they have coming through for a company in their time of need. I love being a part of that.

PLS has given me every opportunity I could have ever asked for. One of the beautiful things about sales is that all my goals have been honestly set-in front of me, and when I’ve achieved them, I’ve always been rewarded for doing so.

To anyone thinking of finding their PLS success, if you come in here and are motivated to succeed, the sky’s the limit to what you can do.
