PLS Announces Two Internal Promotions to Expand its Leadership Team in 2020

CRANBERRY TWP., PA (Jan. 16, 2020) – PLS Logistics Services, a third-party logistics provider, announced the promotion of two employees to expand its leadership team.

James Penn, formerly the Satellite Office Leader for the Philadelphia office, and Justin Feroce, formerly the Satellite Office Leader for the St. Louis office, were promoted as a result of the work they have conducted this past year.

Penn was promoted to Associate Vice President and will now oversee PLS’ Charlotte, Jacksonville, and Tampa offices and operations teams, as well as the Philadelphia office. Penn has been with PLS for 11 years and has been a major contribution to the growth of PLS’ Philadelphia office.

Feroce was promoted to the Director of Transportation and will maintain oversight of the St. Louis office and government team, but will now also oversee PLS’ Phoenix and Dallas offices in his new role. Feroce started at PLS in 2014 as an account executive and has worked his way up through the company to his new leadership role.

Greg Burns, President and CEO of PLS Logistics, said he is very excited about the opportunities in front of PLS.

PLS Logistics Shows Support For Food Banks Nationwide

CRANBERRY TWP., PA (Jan. 2, 2019) – PLS Logistics Services, a third-party logistics provider, raised over 4,200 items for food banks nationwide during its company wide food drive from November 18 to December 13.

PLS partnered with local food banks in 10 U.S. cities that PLS is located in. Each office was given a pre-determined donation goal based on branch size, and every office was able to exceed its goal. This year, PLS raised 300% more items than last year’s food drive.

“It is incredibly rewarding to know that our organization is making such a positive impact on communities across the country this holiday season,” Greg Burns, President and CEO of PLS Logistics, said.

All items that were collected will be donated to various food banks and pantries including the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Catholic Charities in Charlotte, Philabundance in Philadelphia, CrossRoads in Dallas, Mom’s Pantry in Phoenix, and more. These food banks and organizations work to help feed families, refugees, and individuals struggling to find nutritional foods due to housing and medical costs or lack of resources. Burns said he is proud that PLS is able to help make a difference and is excited to continue to give back to communities.

PLS Logistics Services Shows Support for Cranberry Twp. and Philadelphia Police Officers

CRANBERRY TWP., PA (Oct. 22, 2019) — PLS Logistics Services held its second annual “Police Appreciation Week” in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia during the week of October 14 – 18.

PLS provided the Cranberry Township Police Department and the 6th District Philadelphia Police Department with catered lunches during its second annual “Police Appreciation Week.” PLS started the appreciation week in 2018 to show gratitude for all the hard work that the officers do for the community. This year, PLS employees traveled to Philadelphia to expand the event to one of its satellite locations in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia.

PLS Chicago Corporate Office Welcomes New VP of Corporate Development

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA (July 8, 2019) – PLS Logistics Services, a leading third-party logistics provider, is pleased to announce Steven Moore as the new Vice President of Corporate Development, who will be working out of its new Chicago office.

In his new role at PLS, Moore will serve as a key member of PLS’s leadership team to help arrange strategic alliances, identify & acquire companies and contribute to PLS’s overall growth.

Moore started his financial career at Citigroup in New York City after graduating from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science from the Fisher College of Business. He later received his MBA from Columbia Business School, which led him to a corporate business development role at American Express. Moore’s most recent role was in middle-market private equity with a focus on finding companies to help add value and form strategic partnerships.

When Moore met with the leadership team, he said that he liked the vision they had for the company and the role that he would be able to have at PLS. Moore said that the possibilities that aligned with that vision and the willingness of PLS to expand were what attracted him to the position.

“I am really looking forward to helping attain PLS’ goals of growth and acquisition and expanding our geographic footprint to help make PLS a bigger leader in the industry,” Moore said. “The logistics industry is currently in a very active M&A environment, so I am excited to help PLS get involved and continue to grow as an organization.”

The new Chicago office is PLS’ 11th office nationwide and will meet the needs of PLS’s expanding client base and demand for intermodal shipping services. Moore will be working out of the Chicago office alongside PLS’ intermodal freight brokerage department.

“Since I’ve been here, there has been a very strong team dynamic at PLS and I am excited to be a part of it,” Moore said. “I am eager to begin building a strategy with the leadership team to aid in the future development of the organization.”

PLS Logistics Services Speaks to Temple Students About Supply Chain Industry

CRANBERRY TWP., PA (Mar. 7, 2019) — The CEO of PLS Logistics visited Temple University from February 28 to March 1 to speak to supply chain and business students about the supply chain and sales industry.

Greg Burns, the President, Chairman, and CEO of PLS Logistics spoke to Temple students last week during a supply chain class about the challenges and opportunities in the industrial transportation industry. Temple University students were able to interact with Burns and ask questions about both PLS and the logistics industry. The supply chain presentation was followed by a networking happy hour event that evening at the Draught Horse in north Philadelphia to give students a chance to interact with recruiters, top account executives at PLS and a CEO within the industry.

While on campus, Burns also met with Temple’s Professional Sales Organization (PSO) and spoke to business students about the best practices in a competitive sales environment. Burns spoke on his past experiences and gave tips on how someone in the sales industry today can be successful in a very competitive and flooded environment.
