Job Description: Field Account Executive
Job Summary
PLS Logistics Services is seeking AGGRESSIVE Field Account Executives who have the drive and determination to seek out new accounts and CLOSE THE SALE! If you have the skills, ingenuity and a high sense of personal responsibility then you can be part of a driving force in our goal for rapid expansion in the 3PL Industry. This position will enable proven professionals to obtain a lucrative commissionable income by introducing their book of business to freight saving through our competitive rates and proprietary software system.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Solicit LTL business within an assigned areas, industry or data base
- Manage sales pipeline of 150-200 leads
- Maintain and manage existing account relationships
- Prepare sales contracts for new clients
- Grow and maintain a portfolio of customers
- Effectively communicate PLS service offerings to new accounts
- Manage and update Salesforce.com
- Educate the operations and engineering teams with regard to prospects’ key background information
- Facilitate implementation of customer training on key transportation management systems applications
- Call customers on a daily basis
- Secure historical shipment data and/or representative carrier invoice sample from prospects
- Engage prospects in credit application process
- Assist resolution of customer billing issues
- Cultivate new revenue opportunities with existing customer base
- Perform monthly checklist of:
- Secure 3-5 LOA opportunities
- Average 8 lunches
- Average 4 dinners
- Perform weekly checklist of:
- 50-70 phone calls to solicit new business opportunities
- 6-8 live sales calls
- 3-6 sales presentations
- Attendweeklysalesmeetings
- Other duties as required by business needs or as assigned
Minumum Requirements
- Strong work ethic, energetic, fast learner, strong negotiation and persuasion skills, self directed and good problem solving skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess strong analytical, strategic selling and creative thinking skills
- A high sense of personal responsibility
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Minumum Qualifications
- College degree strongly preferred but not required
- Sales experience preferred
- Willing to travel on a frequent basis
- Some overnight travel required
